You just knew that the College GameDay crew wasn't going to waste too much time before bringing up the embarrassing Florida football loss to USF last week. It's a defeat that Gators fans still can't get over, as it took the wind out of everyone's sails.

What's next for Florida? On Saturday night, the Gators will take on LSU in Baton Rouge in one of the best games of the weekend. However, people aren't too optimistic that an upset will be on the way. Kirk Herbstreit called out Napier and Lagway a bit too, making it clear the two aren't delivering early on for everyone in Gainesville.

Former Florida players appear split on whether Billy Napier should stay or go

Kirk Herbstreit was right to call out Billy Napier and DJ Lagway

"Billy Napier needs a win,” Herbstreit said. “This is a football team that just cannot find any continuity. This guy (Lagway) is supposed to be one of the top quarterbacks in the country, but he hasn’t really been able to find his rhythm yet early and now they’ve got to go on the road against Harold Perkins and this (LSU) defense.”

Herbie went ahead and stated the obvious there. Napier's seat is sizzling hot and the calls for him to get fired are only going to grow louder if the Gators lose to LSU and look awful in the process. What's going on with Lagway too? He's a former 5-star signee, but he's just not living up to the hype.

The offense looked terrible against USF, which you've got to give credit to Alex Golesh and his staff for. Despite that, there were simply no excuses for Florida, especially with the game being played at The Swamp. Things are going to be quite tough for UF facing a loaded LSU defense.

Will Florida be able to keep this Week 3 clash close? We'll find out on Saturday night, but Herbstreit's take on the state of the Gators isn't inspiring at all. Napier isn't proving anyone wrong early on this season, which is incredibly disappointing for so many different reasons.
