From time to time, Billy Napier was able to get top-tier prospects on campus; he just seldom could seal the deal. Former five-star tackle Jordan Seaton did take a visit to Florida, and the Gators were in his final five, but the Gators were distant contenders in the end as Seaton signed with Colorado to play for Deion Sanders.
Seaton has had enough of Colorado and is slated to enter the transfer portal. And while the Gators are kicking the tires to see if he wants to come to Gainesville, the price tag that is being floated for Seaton is both astronomical and not surprising to anyone paying attention.
Jordan Seaton set to enter the transfer portal
The potential salary being floated for Seaton is anywhere from $2.5 million to well over $4 million for the 2026.

In one breath, this seems like an insane amount to spend on a single player who will more than likely hop into the NFL Draft after next season.
But in reality, it’s a perfectly fair price to pay for a premium offensive tackle in 2025.
Despite an otherwise anemic Colorado offense that was 109th in points per game in 2025, Seaton only allowed seven total QB pressures and just two sacks in nine games. Seaton allowed three sacks in 13 games as a true freshman.
The $3 million or more price tag might scare off some people, but in the NFL, the left tackle is often one of the highest-paid players on the team, especially those who are Pro Bowl caliber. Florida has grabbed a couple of lower-rated tackles from the transfer portal thus far, but neither compares in profile to Seaton.
Early indications are that Florida is at least in the picture for Seaton. The question mark is going to be whether the Gators actually have the money to play ball and land a fish as big as Seaton. Florida has surprised many people with its willingness to get aggressive in the portal and retain key talent this offseason.
Do the Gators have one more trick up their sleeve this transfer portal cycle?
