After three days of access for those who pre-ordered the game, CFB 26 is set to be released to the masses as EA Sports puts out their second edition of the game since bringing it back from the dead.
As will now be an annual tradition, some Florida Gators will get respect while others will still be fighting for their in-game player rating to be improved.
And one particular player, who might be the X-factor for the 2025 Florida squad, got zero love from EA Sports.
Aidan Mizell sees no change in his CFB 26 rating
Last year in CFB 25, Aidan Mizell was rated 78. He had great speed in the game, but his other attributes were low. This was fair given that Mizell entered 2024 as a still unproven prospect who only saw a handful of snaps as a true freshman.
There is a good chance that Mizell is going to be a starter by 2025, or at least a key rotational piece, but Florida fans hoping his rating would be improved will be disappointed.
His rating for CFB 26 is...
78.
It's exactly the same as last year.
As Gator fans, we saw the flashes that Mizell provided against Samford, Mississippi State, and Georgia in particular.
But one thing we here at Hail Florida Hail have noted, and one thing that seems strange for a guy that is supposed to slot in as a starting wide receiver for 2025, is that as 2024 wound down, he was losing out on snaps to Marcus Burke.
Why? No one seems to have that answer.
But Burke transferred, and the best he could wind up at was UCF, so it wasn't a case of Mizell being stuck behind some elite receiver.
In fact, if you are keeping score at home, Mizell is tied for 5th on the Florida wide receiver depth chart in CFB 26.
Eugene Wilson is rated 89, J. Michael Sturdivant is 85, and Florida's freshman duo of Dallas Wilson and Vernell Brown III is 80.
Kahleil Jackson is also rated 78.
Mizell will have every opportunity in the world to prove whether or not his rating is a massive snub.
And for Florida to have a good year in 2025, they need him to prove that as well.
