The spring game for Florida Football is on Saturday at 1 PM. Gator fans won't be able to watch it on TV, but they can attend The Swamp in person.

The Gators released the rosters for the respective Orange and Blue teams on Thursday. Here are some notable observations regarding the rosters.

Florida Football: So, who is the backup QB?

We highlighted yesterday how Harrison Bailey probably needs a good spring game if he has plans on being the backup QB to DJ Lagway in 2025. Most assumed when he transferred in that he would be ahead of Aidan Warner, but based on reports from camp as well as public comments from Billy Napier, that might not be the case.

Bailey is on the Orange team, which has the bulk of the 2nd team offense. Typically, this would indicate that Bailey is the backup.

But, given that Lagway probably won't take many snaps on Saturday, if any, that means we should see a good chunk of Warner working with the 1st team receivers.

KD Daniels breakthrough?

The running back mix is as expected, with Jadan Baugh and Treyaun Webb getting 1st team team reps. Jakobi Jackson is also listed on the blue team.

This means that on the Orange team, KD Daniels is in line to get a good chunk of carries alongside freshman Duke Clark.

We know Daniels has a ton of potential and could be the breakout candidate this spring game, similar to what we saw Baugh do last spring.

Dallas Wilson and Vernell Brown split up

There are no surprises with J. Michael Sturdivant, Eugene Wilson, and Aidan Mizell being together on the Blue team, while Tank Hawkins, TJ Abrams, and Nae'shaun Montgomery are on the Orange team together.

What is notable is that Dallas Wilson is on the Orange team while Vernell Brown is on Blue.

In theory, if we are to believe that Sturdivant, Wilson, and Mizell are the 1st team wide receivers, that would mean Wilson is going to get an earlier look on the field than Brown.

LJ McCray on Orange

If there is one player who needs to live up to his star profile billing in 2025, it's LJ McCray. The former five-star played some in 2024, but didn't have much of an impact with the snaps he got.

On Saturday, he is listed alongside Tyreak Sapp and George Gumbs, so presumably, the Gators are also ready to give him significant snaps to start the 2025 campaign.

Cormani McClain on Orange

Speaking of former five-stars, Cormani McClain is also getting a run with the first-team defense on Saturday.

His journey has been well documented, and part of what has allowed McClain to hop up with the 1st team has been injuries.

But there have also been good reports coming out of camp about McClain, so we'll see if those reports turn into reality on Saturday.
