And there you have it! Florida has picked up yet another commitment under Jon Sumrall. He is on a roll after landing Elijah Hutcheson and Kailib Dillard on Tuesday. Three-star defensive line prospect Stive-Bentley Keumajou Yondui has joined the ranks as an intriguing commit with a ton of upside. He grew up in England, while playing basketball and soccer since coming stateside to finish high school.
Here is the social media post letting everyone know that Keumajou Yondui is coming to Florida now!

The 6’3 295 DL chose the Gators over Georgia, Miami, Texas, and Auburn

According to the 247Sports Composite, Keumajou Yondui is the No. 47 player from Florida, the No. 64 defensive line prospect in the country, and the No. 530 player in his class. At 6-foot-2.5 and 295 pounds, he could potentially play on either side of the line of scrimmage. He played both ways during his first season of high school football, as well as contributing on special teams with punts and kicks.
He beat out Auburn, Georgia, Miami, and Texas for his commitment, but what does this really mean?
Jon Sumrall is totally banking on Stive-Bentley Keumajou Yondui's upside
Look. If you have a player other major Power Four schools in the region want like Auburn, Georgia, and Miami, it serves you to go after him. To pry Keumajou Yondui away from Miami's clutches out of Coral Gables is stunning. Mario Cristobal has had a miserable time of protecting his alma mater's home turf. He is starting to get paranoid, but that is only a good thing for the Gators at this juncture.
What we really need to know about this latest commitment for Florida is that Sumrall seems to be more than willing to put his trust and faith into his staff to develop these players. After all, he cut his teeth in the Group of Five at Tulane and Troy previously. How many four and five-stars did he coach at either stop? Exactly. That being said, Florida landing Keumajou Yondui and De'Voun Kendrick is telling.
Combined, these are more projects than prospects. The Tampa native only ranks No. 272 overall in the 247Sports Composite for his class. It is why it is increasingly imperative that Sumrall is able to land Tyler Alexander in-state out of Palm Beach Central in the coming weeks and months. This four-star is a bit more of the plug-in-play variety along the defensive line. These gambles better pay off!
Overall, Sumrall is trying to do extraordinary things at Florida, but he needs to get results fast. His personality may be a breath of fresh air from what Billy Napier was all about, but there is a non-zero chance he could wear people out fast, especially if he does not win to the level he did at Tulane and Troy previously. By committing to high-upside projects such as Kemaujou Yondui, he signed up for it.
While Florida fans should celebrate beating out a handful of rivals for him, let's hope this works out.
