The Gators could have their quarterback of the future on campus this spring. Four-star in-state prospect Davin Davidson has been blowing up during camp season and says he'll be in Gainesville this spring to watch some Gator practices and catch up with the coaching staff.

Davidson is going to be a name to watch over the next few months after he took home MVP honors at the Under Armour NEXT Camp in Orlando. He has a huge 6-foot-6 frame with the ability to move around. Davidson is also coming off of leading Cardinal Mooney to a state championship, the Sarasota program's second in three years.

It's no surprise that Davidson has several schools that are ramping up their interest in him and Florida is near the top of the list.

QB target Davin Davidson is high on the Gators.

Davidson was extended an offer personally by head coach Jon Sumrall in mid-January, a month after Sumrall was hired. He told 247Sports that quarterbacks coach Joe Craddock is someone that he talks to regularly.

"I think he's separated himself by showing how much he cares," Davidson said. "Every time he's been down to school, and I've been up there, he's made it known that I'm a priority to them, and he takes the time to show me how I fit into their offense and what I can do for their program."

Right now, the Gators quarterback board seems to be one in transition, which isn't surprising with the coaching changes. Elijah Haven, arguably the top quarterback in the 2027 class, was a major target before Billy Napier was fired and now Sumrall and the new staff have to work their way back into that recruitment. Another in-state product, Wonderful Monds IV from Vero Beach, is also on the Gators' radar.

That leaves the door open for a prospect like Davidson, who has performed well during camps, has a winning pedigree and is reciprocating the interest shown in him. If Davidson's spring trip leads to an official visit, he would be the QB target worth keeping an eye on.
