The junior from Anna High School in Anna, Texas visited Gainesville earlier this spring and Phil Trautwein and the Florida staff followed that up with a visit to Texas shortly after and pledged their commitment to the junior.
“I fit their program very well,” he told Rivals. “Coach Traut is one of the best, if not the best, offensive line coach in college football right now.”
Peyton Miller commits to Florida
Miller, 6’5”, 305lbs chose Florida over Texas Tech, Clemson, and Texas. He also had offers from Arkansas, Duke, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Missouri, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, and Tennessee, among others as well.
The newest Gator commit was ranked by On3 as the No. 1 center in the nation, the No. 130 recruit nation-wide, the No. 10 IOL, and currently sits as the 17th ranked recruit out of Texas. ESPN has the junior ranked as the No. 68 prospect in his class in their ESPN Top 300. He is ranked as the No. 1 IOL by ESPN, the No. 14 Regional IOL, and No. 12 in the state.
247 Sports also has him ranked as the No. 124 player nationally, the No. 9 IOL, and the No. 17 prospect out of Texas.
Like some of Florida’s other 2027 offensive line prospects, Miller’s relationship with Trautwein goes back to when he coached at Penn State. He has since continued to grow a relationship with now Florida’s offensive line coach. He followed his journey down to Florida and continued to grow that relationship, which is something both Trautwein and Miller loved and helped sparked the junior’s interest in Florida even more.
His spring visit to Florida solidified the decision even more when he got to meet Coach Sumrall and have interaction with Maxwell Hiller, another recent big commit. “I really think he’s going to lead the program in the right direction,” said Miller of Sumrall.
He said Hiller texted him after committing as well and told him he needed to be a Gator.
All the pieces were leading to Florida and that’s the decision Miller made on Monday.
“I want to help the Gators become champions again,” he stated.
Miller joins DL De’Voun Kendrick as the second commit of the day.
