The over/under for today’s game against Oklahoma is set at 44.5 points. Vegas is looking at the fact that both Florida and Oklahoma have struggling offenses, combined with a pair of defenses that have shown some life at times. If Vegas is correct, we could be in for a good ol' fashion rock fight in Gainesville tonight.

So with that in mind, we thought we would take a look at some of the more notable rock fights Florida has been involved in since the 2010 season.

Famous rock fights in recent Florida history

Since the 2010 season, Florida has been involved in 14 games where both teams failed to score more than 17 points. Florida went 8-6 in those games and hasn’t actually been involved in a straight up rock fight since 2018, though last year’s loss to USF almost made this list.

These are those 14 games:

Oct. 16, 2010: Florida lost to Mississippi State, 10–7.

Oct. 15, 2011: Florida lost to Auburn, 17–6.

Nov. 12, 2011: Florida lost to South Carolina, 17–12.

Oct. 6, 2012: Florida beat LSU, 14–6.

Oct. 27, 2012: Florida lost to Georgia, 17–9.

Nov. 3, 2012: Florida beat Missouri, 14–7.

Oct. 12, 2013: Florida lost to LSU, 17–6.

Nov. 7, 2015: Florida beat Vanderbilt, 9–7.

Oct. 1, 2016: Florida beat Vanderbilt, 13–6.

Nov. 19, 2016: Florida beat LSU, 16–10.

Oct. 7, 2017: Florida lost to LSU, 17–16.

Sept. 29, 2018: Florida beat Mississippi State, 13–6.

Of some of the more notable ones, the 2010 loss to Mississippi State was frustrating because Florida actually did move the ball in that game, but two missed field goals, a turnover on downs, an interception in Mississippi State territory, and a fumble in Mississippi State territory doomed Florida.

The 2014 win over Tennessee was far from pretty football, but it’s always fun to remind Volunteer fans that they blew a 4th-quarter lead to Treon Harris.

The 2016 win over LSU is one of the most iconic in Florida history, after the epic goal-line stand the Gators had amid the backdrop of the game itself having to be moved due to Hurricane Matthew.

The 2018 win over Mississippi State was an important early win in the Dan Mullen Era and featured the good side of Todd Grantham blitzing like crazy.

If tonight does emerge as a rock fight, hopefully it emerges as a win.
