Florida is on a bye week to get ready for Georgia, but the coaching staff for the Gators did not take the week off, as a slew of recruiting offers went out this week. Prospects all over the country took to social media to highlight their offers from Florida.

One of the more notable offers to go out is for another highly ranked offensive lineman as the Gators continue to make a push to focus heavily on the trenches first.

Florida offers four-star offensive lineman Josiah Eney

Josiah Eney is listed as an IOL out of Maryland. Listed at 6’5” and 300 pounds, he is a class of 2028 prospect who is ranked No. 92 overall by Rivals and No. 138 overall by 247. Because ESPN has him unranked for whatever reason, his overall composite ranking is lower.

On film, he plays left tackle for Our Lady of Good Counsel, and it is clear ESPN has some catching up to do. His size dwarfs everyone, and like all four-star offensive linemen, he has a ton of traits we like to see. He keeps his base wide, and what stands out the most with Eney is that he is not afraid to pancake someone, essentially Greco-Roman wrestling style. He basically ragdolls guys to the side, and we feel bad for whoever tries to line up against him.

He has all the size one could want from a four-star lineman. The only thing we’ll note is that, given he is listed as an IOL, we would like to see a bit more first-step burst if he is used as a pulling guard. But if you compare his film from his junior year to his sophomore year, it is a massive improvement overall.

That improved film could be why offers have been streaming in from all over the place this fall. Florida joins the list with teams like Wisconsin, Auburn, Ohio State, Penn State, and Tennessee. It’s too early to tell what momentum Florida may or may not have, but we imagine the Gators are going to make a massive push starting in January, and the battle for Eney is going to heat up quickly.
