Coming into the NFL Combine, Caleb Banks had some lingering questions that needed to be answered. The Florida DT had an injury-riddled 2025 campaign, and even though he has the size the NFL scouts drool over he still had to prove he could move like an NFL DT.
If his 40-yard dash is any indication, NFL GMs should feel confident to go after Banks once the draft rolls around.
Florida’s Caleb Banks runs at the NFL Combine
Banks toed the starting line for the 40-yard dash and galloped his way down the field in 5.04 seconds. It wasn’t the top mark from the day, but it is more than enough to answer any questions that may hang around from his injury recovery.
.@GatorsFB DT Caleb Banks just ran a 5.05u at 6'6" and 327 pounds.

Throw in that Banks measured in with the longest wingspan for a DT at the Combine since 1999, and there is a reason why Banks continues to be viewed as a potential 1st round pick in most mock drafts floating around.

God don't make many of 'em like Caleb Banks https://t.co/Q5DHt6lGhM
Banks transferred into Florida from Louisville and really burst onto the scene in the back-to-back wins over LSU and Ole Miss in 2024. He had 3.5 sacks and a forced fumble in those two games alone. He came back for the 2025 season with hopes of refining his game for NFL GMs, but he only appeared in three games due to injuries.
But his combination of size and speed might make him too much to resist, even with the injury concerns. He wasn’t shy prior to the Combine about what he expected from himself. After being a standout at the Senior Bowl, he stated earlier this week:
“I'll run through a motherf****** face.”
Banks is one of nine former Gators represented at the Combine, tied for the 8th most among any program in the country. The NFL Combine will continue through Sunday.
