There isn’t much left for Florida to wrap up in its class of 2027. Raheem Floyd is set to make his commitment on Tuesday afternoon, and the pursuit of Jalen Brewster and Easton Royal continues. Barring some flips during the season, Florida’s class of 2027 is pretty much set.

And while Royal feels like he is slipping away and the odds of getting him feel low, the wide receiver group Florida already has locked up is still one of the best trios anyone around the country has landed for the class of 2027.

Florida’s wide receiver class of 2027 is one of the best in the country

Rivals highlighted the teams with the best wide receiver commits for the class of 2027, and the four teams they highlighted were:

  • Florida
  • Oregon
  • Texas A&M
  • Cal

Florida makes this list despite not having a five-star player in the group, but it does have three talented players, all with different skill sets. Elias Pearl is a top 100 overall prospect and is noted for his ability to get yards after the catch as well as his all-around athleticism. Tramond Collins isn’t far behind in the rankings. Listed at 6’2”, he also has some sneaky speed to him and had 1,451 all-purpose yards in 2025.

Then there is Anthony Jennings, who just can’t be tackled after the catch, and his balance and agility led to a yards per catch of 24.2 in 2025.

Don’t get it twisted, Royal is a special talent and on paper would instantly be the best receiver of this group. But it’s not like this wide receiver group is a dud if Royal doesn’t come.

And in a lot of ways, the wide receiver group sums up Florida’s class of 2027 as a whole, where it lacks the five-star talent outside of Maxwell Hiller, but is loaded up with solid four-star prospects across the board. As a whole, Florida has 16 blue-chip prospects according to the 247 Composite (which could go to 17 if Floyd commits).

Oregon has 18 blue-chips, Texas A&M has 17, Notre Dame has 17, and Ohio State has 16.

LSU has 11, Georgia has 7, Tennessee has 6, and Alabama has 4.

So while we may squabble over the lack of five-stars and there are fair questions to be asked, when one takes a step back they will see that Florida’s class of 2027 is a perfectly usable class to mold and develop for Jon Sumrall.
