From committing, to de-committing, to recommitting, four-star ATH Tramond Collins from Cottondale, just north of Tallahassee, has decided going south to The Swamp is the only right choice to make.
Collins, recruited by the Billy Napier regime, committed to the Gators in June, but after Florida lost to South Florida in embarrassing fashion 18-16 in The Swamp and went on to win just four-games, going 4-8 on the season (2-6 in the SEC) and finishing 12th in the SEC, the class of 2027 commit de-committed from the Gators.
But just three months later, Jon Sumrall earned Collins’ trust and won Collins back, leading to the four-star ATH to recommit on Thursday, per Hayes Fawcett of On3 Hayes Fawcett of ON3, marking a big day for the Sumrall staff. This recommitted describes Sumrall’s tenacity and willingness to prove that change is coming in Gainesville.

Collins, a combo wide receiver and defensive back is the No. 4 ranked ATH in the 2027 class and a Top 125 overall recruit, listed at No. 111 nationally. He is also the No. 12 ATH out of Florida.
In 2025 on offense, he had 41 rushing carries for 600 yards and nine touchdowns. He averaged 14.6 yards per carry. His biggest game came on September 19 when he rushed for 178 yards on eight carries and two touchdowns. He scored at least one rushing touchdown per game in every game except two.
Not only can Collins perform on the ground, he can do it all in the air as well. The junior receiver had 36 receptions in 2026, with 613 yards and five touchdowns. He averaged 17 yards per catch.
As noted Collins is also a two-way player, playing offensively and defensively. Last season he had totaled 50 tackles, including 11 in his opening night game against Sneads.
In 2025 alone, Collins had 1,451 all purpose yards and eight touchdowns.
Collins has grown from just being a receiver, to also playing in the back field as a rusher. Between 2023-2025 (and into the winter of 2026) he played in 31 games with 79 receptions, and a total of 1,670 yards. He averaged 21.1 yards per carry and scored 22 touchdowns.
In the last two total years as a rusher, Collins had 72 rushes for 1,261 yards, averaging 17.5 yards and had 18 rushing touchdowns.
The versatility is what makes him the ATH that he is. Being able to play defensively and two different positions offensively will allow the Gators to get creative with how they use the junior from Cottondale.
Defensively, over the course of three years he has played in 31 games defensively, combining for 88 tackles, averaging 2.8 tackles per game and has two interceptions.
“Back like I never left,” Collins told On3, calling the University of Florida “an amazing program” under a new staff that made a good impression on him, ultimately leading to him finding his way back home to the Gators.
