With the commitment of Davian Groce, the high four-star all-around athlete out of Texas, the Gators were able to move back up the recruiting rankings. With 19 total commits, Florida is 13th in the 247 Composite rankings and is 9th in average player rankings.

To this point, it is a solid class that still doesn't quite match the levels of the elites. This is a position-by-position look at who is committed to Florida and which groups could use an extra player or two to round out the class.

QB

  • Will Griffin

Griffin was once considered a top-60 prospect, but his ranking has since nosedived since committing to the Gators.

For the record, we still like Griffin, and it's not like his stat line was any worse in 2024 compared to 2023. His total yards dropped but he also threw the ball less in 2024 compared to 2023.

He is also the type of QB who is much better on film compared to anything a camp would showcase.

RB

  • Carsyn Baker

One of the common themes we have seen with Billy Napier over the past couple of years is an emphasis on speed with his skill position guys.

So while Carsyn Baker is a middle-tier four-star guy, he has run 10.61 in the 100-meter dash while being listed at 195 pounds.

WR

  • Davian Groce
  • Marquez Daniel
  • Justin Williams

Probably the strongest-looking group of the Class of 2026, all three guys in this group are potential game breakers on Saturday.

Both Groce and Williams have shades of Percy Harvin to their game. Williams became the first player in the state of Florida since Devin Hester to run for 1,000 yards AND rack up 1,000 receiving yards in the same season.

They are balanced out by Daniel being 6'5" and should give coordinators plenty to play with.

TE

  • Heze Kent
  • Kekua Aumua

Tough group to evaluate since Kent might actually play OT in college and Aumua is a pure blocking tight end.

For as much as Napier utilizes tight ends in his offense, he continues to not land any of the "premier" tight ends.

OL

  • Tyler Chukuyem
  • Chancellor Campbell
  • G'Nivre Carr
  • Javarii Luckas
  • Desmond Green

Like the tight end group, this is another group that is difficult to evaluate definitively, as Florida's philosophy is to develop offensive linemen gradually.

While this group lacks any of the elite prospects from the class of 2026, we won't know whether it's any good until 2028 or beyond.

DL

  • Kendall Guervil
  • KJ Ford
  • JaReylan McCoy

Solid group in the trenches. Guervil is a disruptor, Ford was a must-have after missing on several other top EDGEs, and McCoy is the wildcard of the group, given that ESPN has him as a five-star while 247 has him as a three-star.

This group could benefit from one more EDGE.

LB

  • Malik Morris

Malik Morris is a perfectly fine linebacker, but Florida could really benefit from taking one more guy in the top 200.

The saving grace of this group is that Florida has done well over the past couple of cycles at LB and should be okay long term if Morris is the only LB.

DB

  • CJ Bronaugh
  • CJ Hester
  • Kaiden Hall

CJ Bronaugh just shut down flip rumors, and assuming he makes it to campus in Gainesville, he would be the fastest guy on the team, with a 100-meter dash PR of 10.34 seconds (and a wind-aided time of 10.24 seconds).

Hester and Hall are both mid-level four-star guys. Both are willing tacklers and have a pathway for development.

This is also a group that could probably benefit from one more guy to round out the group.
