The Florida Gators have always prided themselves on being an everything school. With three players drafted in the NBA Draft, only Duke wound up having more players selected than the Gators over the past two days, but we know Florida is more than just a basketball school.
Now that the NBA Draft is over, Florida is one of 25 schools to have at least one player drafted in both the NBA and NFL Draft. But when one digs just a little bit deeper, that list quickly shrinks to an elite group of four schools.
Florida is one of just four schools with this distinction
Florida joins a list of Rutgers, Tennessee, and Kentucky as the only schools that had at least two players drafted in both the NFL Draft and the NBA Draft.

The Gators had Walter Clayton Jr. selected on Wednesday night in the first round, and he was followed up by Aljiah Martin and Will Richard getting selected on Thursday night in the second round.
This follows up on Florida's NFL Draft that saw seven Gators get selected: Chimere Dike, Cam Jackson, Jason Marshall, Shemar James, Graham Mertz, Jeremy Crawshaw, and Trikweze Bridges.
Return to glory days
There was once a time when getting this many players drafted was commonplace in Gainesville. Football has usually been able to produce five or more draft picks a year, but basketball went through a major drought during the Mike White Era.
The three players drafted this week are more players than the past eleven years combined.
It's a reminder that Florida has the capacity to be an everything school, and combined with the upcoming MLB Draft, there is a distinct possibility for Florida to be near the top of the list of most overall players drafted across the three major sports on campus.
