The injury bug has been running rampant throughout Gainesville, and it seems like every day the Florida Gators have added someone new to the injury list. Yesterday it was announced that former five-star EDGE LJ McCray would be missing some time and is listed as "week-to-week."

But in a bit of good news for Gators fans, two other players who had been noted for missing practice returned to the field today during the open media session of practice.

Eugene Wilson and Aidan Mizell return to practice

Nick Marcinko of Gators Country tweeted a quick video of Aidan Mizell running a route at practice, and Zach Goodall of Swamp247 noted that Eugene Wilson was back out at practice too.

This is a welcome development given that both were at the center of the conga line of Gators who had popped up with "minor" injuries. Eyebrows were raised when they were both in a non-contact jersey.

Then both showed up in a regular jersey last week, but neither ran routes, and neither participated in Saturday's scrimmage.

As deep as Florida's wide receiver room may be on paper, both Mizell and Wilson are potential key cogs for the Gator offense in 2025.

Wilson had a productive freshman campaign with hopes of a larger role during the 2024 season. But his role as a gadget guy stayed the same, and ultimately injuries derailed whatever hope he had of a solid year.

Mizell started to get some shine during the 2024 campaign, and had a memorable touchdown against Georgia as well as a memorable touchdown that was called back against Mississippi State. As we have chronicled with Mizell, he saw his snaps reduce for whatever reason to close out 2024, but appears to be in a position to be a starter in 2025 if he can stay healthy.

Florida is still working on getting Dallas Wilson back into the mix, but fellow five-star freshman Vernell Brown III has started to shine during camp.
