Opening night in the NFL was an eventful one, to say the least, and included Jalen Carter being kicked out before even taking a snap and an hour-long lightning delay that halted all momentum from the game.

It also featured the debut of former Florida Gator Trikweze Bridges with the Dallas Cowboys.

The Los Angeles Chargers had drafted Bridges in the 7th round, but an up-and-down training camp saw him as a final cut casualty. Presumably, the Chargers were going to try to bring him back on the practice squad, but the Cowboys claimed Bridges off of waivers and added him to their 53-man roster.

Bridges got in for seven snaps on special teams.

Shemar James is also on the 53-man roster for Dallas, but he was listed as one of the inactive players for the game.

Florida Soccer beats FGCU

Since a disastrous opening night, Florida Soccer has been 4-1 since after beating Florida Gulf Coast 2-1 on Thursday night. The win moves Florida to 4-2-0 overall on the season.

Sophia Sindelar got her 2nd goal of the year in the 1st half to put Florida in front 1-0, and was followed by Charlotte McClure also getting her 2nd goal of the year in the second half on a strike from well outside the box into the upper corner to make it 2-0.

FGCU did score less than a minute after McClure's goal, but the Gators were able to hang on for the win.

Florida finished with 17 total shots, six of which were on target, while FGCU had 11 shots, with just three on target.

Including their 3-1 win over Maryland last Sunday, Florida has won two in a row, and if they can beat Georgia State this upcoming Sunday to conclude non-conference play, it will be the first three-game winning streak for Soccer since 2019.

Volleyball on the road this weekend against Ohio State

Florida Volleyball is coming off a hard-fought four-set win over USF and will be on the road this weekend to take on Ohio State on Sunday at 12 PM.

The Gators are currently 3-1 on the season and have a win over then No. 3 Pittsburgh. After Ohio State, the Gators will take on UNC in Chapel Hill as part of the SEC/ACC Challenge.
