Florida barely broke a sweat en route to another perfect weekend. Hosting the Florida Tournament, the Gators won their first four games in run-rule fashion and won the fifth and final game against Middle Tennessee 7-0.

The five wins move the Gators to 19-0 on the season and leave Florida as just one of five undefeated teams left in college softball. Tennessee, North Carolina, Alabama, and Grand Canyon are the other four teams.

The level of difficulty for Florida is set to go up when they travel west this week Fullerton, CA, for the Judi Garman Classic. Among the teams Florida will face is UCLA, which is currently ranked No. 10 in the latest Softball America poll.

The Gators moved up two spots and currently sit at No. 6 in the country, behind Arkansas, Alabama, Texas, Texas Tech, and No. 1-ranked Tennessee.

Florida Baseball also moves up in the polls

Since their Opening Day disaster, Florida has turned it around and looks like a squad serious about trying to get back to Omaha in 2026. The Gators swept the week with two wins over Stetson and three wins over Kennesaw State to move to 7-1 on the season.

The Gators scored at least nine runs in all five of their games last week, and outside of Sunday, their pitching staff looked great all week.

Florida has now moved up to No. 10 in the D1 Baseball poll. UCLA holds the top spot with LSU and Texas right behind.

Florida will now get set for two games against FIU before a massive weekend series on the road at Miami.

Gator Basketball makes huge jump

It seems like the national media is finally catching up to Florida in the polls, as the Gators made a massive jump up five spots and now sit in the AP Top 25 at No. 7.

The irony of Florida’s big jump is that they faced South Carolina and Ole Miss, two teams with losing records who won’t be playing in March Madness. But the big jump feels like a culmination of the Gators continuing to steamroll opponents and looking like a legit threat to win it all once again.

Florida will take on Texas and Arkansas this week with a chance to wrap up the regular-season SEC title.
