It was a frustrating afternoon for Florida Softball in Game Two of their Super Regional series against Georgia. After cruising in Game One 6-1, it looked like the Gators would break things open early and punch their ticket to Oklahoma City.
After loading the bases in the 1st inning but not bringing any runs home, Florida would go on to have runners in scoring position in every inning except the 3rd inning but could only manage one run after leaving 13 runners on base during the afternoon.
Georgia meanwhile hit solo home runs in the 1st and 2nd inning and that was all the Bulldogs needed for a 2-1 win to force a Game Three.
Florida and Georgia will be back at it today at 4 PM, with the winner off to OKC while the loser will have their season end.
Jac Caglianone does it Again and Knocks his Third Triple-A Home Run Out of the Park
Look out Aaron Judge, Jac Caglianone is on a tear. For the third night in a row, the Gator great has hit one deep and over the fence.
The Omaha Storm Chasers took on the Salt Lake Bees in game five of the series in Salt Lake on Saturday night. Caglianone played left field and batted third behind Diego Castillo. Caglionone went 0-4 to start the day, but with a hit streak on the line, he came up clutch in the top of the eighth and crushed a two-home run to right center field that scored Castillo. He hit that one 107 mph, and it went 450 feet out deep right-center.

The Bees went on to defeat the Storm Chasers 14-11, but with his eighth inning homer, Caglianone became the main story of the day for the Storm Chasers.
Caglianone’s hit streak is now four games in a row, and his home streak is an awe-inspiring three games in a row for Triple-A Omaha City. In Triple-A, he is now hitting .313 with three home runs.Â
Over the course of the 2025 season between Double-A and Triple-A, he has 50 RBIs in 43games.
His 2025 stats are unmatched for a player who started the season in Double-A. Between the two levels he is hitting .318/.384/.572, with a .956 OPS as his states just keep improving. He has a total of eight doubles, 12 home runs, 50 RBIs, 20 walks, two stolen bases, and 35 runs scored.
The Kansas City Royals currently sit 26th in the league in runs scored. With Caglianone at three home runs, seven RBIs, and three runs scored, the anticipation continues to build on when Caglianone could get that final call-up. But many are pushing even more for it to be sooner rather than later to get some youth into the clubhouse.
