The Florida Gators have picked up Jacksonville OF Jaden Bastian from the transfer portal. Listed at 5'11" and 190 pounds, Bastian was a sophomore this past year for the Dolphins and hit .302 with an .433 on-base percentage.
He hit 11 home runs and stole 36 bases while starting 55 games for Jacksonville.
Against Florida on February 18, Bastian went 2-4 with a triple and was hit by a pitch.
His addition continues Florida's more aggressive approach to the transfer portal compared to years past, as he is the fourth player Kevin O'Sullivan has added since the season ended.

Alex Philpott finds a new home
There is a good chance Gator fans will still get a look at pitcher Alex Philpott in 2026. Philpott hit the transfer portal earlier in the week and has wasted no time finding his new home.
Philpott took to social media to announce he will play for South Carolina in 2026.
He was expected to take a larger role with the Gators in 2025 after a huge jump in velocity in his fastball during the offseason, but command issues contributed to a 7.30 ERA in 37.0 innings pitched.
