We highlighted yesterday that Florida Basketball is officially kick-starting its efforts in the transfer portal now that the dust is starting to settle on its national championship run. On Tuesday, the Gators hosted high-priority guard Xaivan Lee from Princeton.
Florida has made the final three for Lee, and now they have to sit back and wait to see if Lee will be coming back to Gainesville to stay.
Florida Basketball: Staying Power
Lee posted some photos on Instagram from his visit to Florida dressed in Gator gear and all the other usual festivities transfer prospects do.
Lee is now down to his final three schools, and Florida is still in that mix. The Gators are going to have to beat out Kansas and St. John's to land the guard.
Beyond being the defending national champions and playing in the top basketball conference in America, the Gators also have an advantage with a connection to Lee. Thomas Haugh was a high school teammate of Lee, and he pestered Lee's Instagram to try and get him to commit.

When we profiled Lee yesterday we said:
"The scouting report on Lee shows that he is a solid three-point shooter with the potential for "logo range." He tends to do his damage off the dribble and is extremely comfortable in an iso situation.
Oddly enough, he struggles as a catch-and-shoot guy.
Overall, Lee was 36.6% from three last year.
But Lee is also willing to attack the basket and is a capable finisher at the rim who is also willing to dish off for the assist as needed."
Florida has to replace Alijah Martin, Will Richard, and Walter Clayton Jr. as guards heading into the 2025 campaign. Denzel Aberdeen, Urban Klavzar, and Ishiah Brown will all look for playing time in 2025/26, but the addition of Lee would be a massive boost for the Gators as they look to defend their title.
