Florida's 2026 recruiting class grew by three players over the weekend, receiving commitments from defensive lineman JaReylan McCoy, wide receiver Marquez Daniel and running back Carsyn Baker. Billy Napier added to the count Monday by earning pledges from offensive linemen Javarii Luckas and Tyler Chukuyem.
The Gators are now up to 12 verbal commits in the 2026 cycle, boosting their class to 13th in the country, according to On3's industry rankings. And rightfully so, Gator fans are pumped up.
Florida fans are thrilled with recent recruiting results
Gator fans took to social media over the weekend to share their excitement surrounding Billy Napier's most recent recruiting commitments, sharing praise for the coach and for the players who will be joining the program for the 2026 campaign.

Baker figures to be next in line for promising running backs to come out of Gainesville, joining a group of talented backs including Jadan Baugh and Ja'Kobi Jackson, and complementing a trio of incoming freshmen in the 2025 class.
It makes sense that Florida fans are excited to see Daniel in The Swamp. The massive wideout is an athletic freak with tremendous upside. Some fans have already envisioned what he'll look like on the field.

But most of all, it's been Napier receiving some much-welcomed praise for his success on the recruiting trail.

Napier's collection of eight commitments in eight days has even warranted a comparison to a legendary college head coach, who still lives on in the nightmares of Florida fans despite being retired.
Billy turning into a young Saban

Sure, anointing Napier as the next Nick Saban is very much hyperbole, but it's a telltale sign of how Gator fans are feeling this offseason. Perhaps it's even a sign of better things to come after the 2024 Gators snapped a streak of three consecutive seasons with fewer than seven wins and inspired some confidence in the future of Florida football under Napier.
The recruiting numbers will have to show up on the turf before any definitive statements can be made. Still, it feels like good things are on the horizon in Gainesville.
