Florida Football got some positive news this week in their recruiting efforts for the class of 2026 as Trenton Henderson has trimmed his list to ten final schools, and the Gators have made the list.

Henderson is out of Pensacola and has trimmed his list to Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Texas, USC, and Vanderbilt.

Florida Football: Locamotive

We profiled Henderson at the beginning of the month. The 6'4" EDGE is in the top 100 overall for On3, ESPN, and 247, with the latter having him ranked the highest at 12th overall.

At the time we said:

"Henderson is the type of player an opponent can game plan for, and it still might not matter. He can be you to the outside or the inside, and he can beat you even if you try to double-team him. On film when he gets to a QB he doesn't waste the opportunity to inflict pain."

While Henderson's list is trimmed down to ten schools, what is encouraging is that Florida also has an official visit lined up this June. FSU, Auburn, Alabama, and Vanderbilt are the other schools that have gained that distinction.

In the world of NIL, anything is possible, and Henderson might shock everyone and go with Vanderbilt. But assuming that is not the case, the toughest competition for the Gators would probably be Alabama, though Auburn has had a way to be a thorn in Florida's side in recruiting, and FSU would be closer to home than UF for Henderson.

Florida currently has two players committed in their class of 2026. The Gators are hoping their end-of-season surge in the 2024 season can act as momentum for this recruiting cycle after last year, Florida got out to a slow start before surging late to finish in the top ten.
