Florida Football Recruiting: Gators hoping for diamond in the rough after FSU OL flip
It has been a busy week for Florida Football on the recruiting front as the Gators keep adding commits to their class of 2025. Florida flipped Tramell Jones from FSU and Stephon Shivers from Georgia over the past two days.
Well, Billy Napier and crew have flipped another FSU prospect, and while his star rating doesn't scream anything we should pay attention to, the hope is that Florida has found itself a diamond in the rough.
Florida Football: Moving on up
Daniel Pierre Louis is an offensive lineman listed at 6'4" and 290 pounds, though some reports have him up to 330 pounds. Pierre Louis was committed to FSU for a grand total of 35 days before he announced on Tuesday afternoon he was flipping to Florida.
All four services have Pierre Louis as a lower-tier three-star prospect, and the 247 Talent Composite lists him as 803rd overall.
Despite the star rating, there are elements of Pierre Louis we like. When pulling, he is unafraid of contact, and one of the key things we always want to see out of a lineman is if they are a one-man wrecking crew, and Pierre Louis fits that build.
It's hard to tell if he should be genuinely higher, given that the only other Power Four schools to offer Pierre Louis were FSU, Memphis, Vanderbilt, West Virginia, and NC State.
Florida is now up to 15 commits for their class of 2025 and is up to 28th in the 247 Team Rankings. He is also the first offensive lineman they have committed to this class, but they are hoping to flip another FSU commit Solomon Thomas.
