When Florida Football ended the 2024 campaign with a four-game winning streak, one major benefit was the ability to turn around their recruiting class of 2025.

And on Monday night, the Gators landed one more top-rated prospect for that class as J'Vari Flowers announced he would be coming to Gainesville over Miami.

Florida Football: Checkmate

Wrote about Flowers back in January when he reclassified from a class of 2026 to a class of 2025 prospect.

At the time, we said:

"On film, he flies and while being 5'10" and 165 pounds could impact early playing time as a corner, he also plays above his height and isn't afraid to lay the boom on wide receivers with more size than him.

But what could also get him on the field right away is his kick return ability. Flowers is lethal, and if he has just a sliver of a hole to shoot through, he is going to break free for a touchdown."

Flowers is fast, like legit track speed fast. Last year, he was the class 3A state champ in the 100 meter dash, and this year, he was 3rd at the prestigious Bob Hayes Invitational. He has a PR in the 100-meter dash of 10.43 seconds.

By landing Flowers, Florida now has 27 members of their class of 2025 and has finished 7th in the 247 Team Rankings, a massive turnaround from where the Gators were back in October when they were sitting outside the top 50.

Landing Flowers also gave the Gators an excuse to troll Miami. Jacob LaFrance, the listed General Manager for Florida, took to X with an emoji of sunglass and an emoji of a pawn chess piece.

The former is what Billy Napier does each time a prospect commits. The latter appears to be a direct shot at Will Harris, who loved to tweet out chess pieces and left for Miami this offseason.
