The wheels were in motion here for a little while. This offseason, former Florida Gators defensive backs coach Will Harris surprised a lot of people when it was announced he was joining the staff for the Miami Hurricanes.

As soon as the news dropped that he was leaving Gainesville, another negative update arrived with 4-star cornerback Jaelen Waters deciding to back off his pledge to the Gators. He was also previously committed to Florida State.

On Friday night, the in-state product shut down his recruitment once again, deciding to commit to the Canes. From the moment Harris made his way to Coral Gables, it was expected that Waters would be joining him over there too. As you might have been able to guess, Harris was pretty fired up over the news, but Florida fans are not:

When taking a look at the replies to Harris' tweet celebrating the commitment news, they are filled with Gators fans letting him have it. They were upset that he jumped ship in the first place, but helping Cristobal pull off a major recruiting win adds to the anger for a lot of people.

It seemed like Waters was going to have a bright future with the Gators, as he's an elite prospect. According to the 247Sports Composite, the 6-1, 170-pounder is ranked four stars, the No. 15 CB in the country and the No. 22 prospect overall from Florida.

Throughout his recruitment, Waters has picked up offers from nearly 40 schools. It hasn't been an easy recruiting process for him, though, as Miami indeed is the third program he has given his verbal. As for Harris, he'd riding high after posting this recruiting win and Waters surely isn't the last prospect he and Florida will be battling over. Billy Napier and Co. may end up regret letting him leave town.
