It's no secret that 2025 hasn't been a great year for Florida Baseball. The Gators are 1-11 in SEC play and are in very real danger of missing the NCAA Tournament this season.

But even with as down as things have been for Florida, there is at least one constant that remains:

Florida is better than FSU at baseball and confirmed their dominance after a 5-4 win on Tuesday night to secure the season series for the seventh time in eight years.

Florida Baseball: Better Than You And You Know It

Jackson Barberi got the start and gave Florida three innings. The basepaths stayed busy for Barberi, but he held FSU to just one run over those three innings.

From there, the conga line of pitchers for Florida did something we haven't seen much this season:

They all did their job and got through clean.

It allowed Florida to hang around until Brendan Lawson had the key moment of the game. With two outs on an 0-2 count, Lawson blasted a three-run home run to right field to put Florida up 5-2.

FSU pulled it back to 5-4, then Jake Clemente entered in the 8th to close things out. FSU went down 1-2-3 in the 8th and the 9th off four strikeouts to secure the win and ensure Florida takes the season series.

Defensively, Florida had three double plays. Lawson finished the night with two hits and four RBIs. Bobby Boser reached base for the 15th straight game, while Colby Shelton has made it to base in 34 of Florida's 35 games this season.

With the win, Florida is now 21-14 on the season and is up to 32nd in RPI. Up next for Florida is a home series against Missouri, currently 0-12 in SEC play and 12-20 overall.
