Billy Napier and the Gators are welcoming in a Florida native to the Swamp this weekend with Wonderful "Champ" Monds IV on a visit this weekend. The 2028 four-star quarterback, who is currently ranked the No. 1 quarterback by Rivals, is a high priority for many schools going forward, and Napier is going to want to lay out the red carpet this weekend.

The Florida Gators are going to play No. 8 Texas this weekend, and with many different players coming for a visit, Monds needs to have the most attention on him.

Even though Napier doesn't know if he will be around for that long with the Gators, he still needs to focus on bringing in top talent for the future. If Napier could get some sort of verbal commitment from Monds, that could help with his job security, but probably not completely save it.

There have been a lot of things that have gone down that will cost Napier his job at some point, the biggest being the fact that the Gators have started this season 1-3 after being called a College Football Playoff contender this season.

So for Napier to welcome Monds into The Swamp, a player who is ranked as the No. 104 player in the Class of 2028, according to 247Sports, it is a big deal. The Gators are looking rough right now, but the type of top-tier program that Florida is proves that players still want to come and play in Gainesville, and even if Napier doesn't have a job much longer, he is going to keep working at least during games to build the future.

During the bye week, Napier and his staff reportedly didn't go out on recruiting trips like most coaching staffs, so Napier probably is sensing that the end is near.
