The news Florida basketball fans were hoping for just came in. That's right, big man Alex Condon has made the tough decision to skip the rest of the NBA Draft process and officially return to the reigning national champs for the 2025-26 campaign.
Talk about MASSIVE for head man Todd Golden and his staff. With the deadline arriving on Wednesday night for players to make their final calls, Condon indeed has decided that his pro dreams can wait.
Now, he's focused on helping the Gators in going back-to-back, which of course won't be an easy task. However, getting Condon back on the hardwood with the rest of the Florida playmakers is only going to help this team's chances. Condon is quite excited about returning home to Gainesville, sending a special message to fans on Tuesday too:

A short and sweet four-word message from Condon to Gator Nation, but you know what, it more than gets the job done. This is the second huge piece of news for Golden in the past week or so, as landing 5-star transfer Boogie Fland is something a lot of people are still buzzing about. Don't forget about guard Xaivian Lee signing earlier this offseason too.
Last campaign, Florida surprised a lot of people by winning it all. What's great here is that so many returning standouts will be ready to suit up, while the Fland + Lee additions are of course monstrous for so many different reasons.
There was plenty of speculation that Condon might end up staying in the draft, but he had a last-minute change of heart and he's now focused on winning another title with Florida. That task of course is going to be quite tough, but Golden has crushed things this offseason in having the team look set to go on yet another deep, brilliant run. Condon surely has made a lot of people happy with his huge life decision as well.
