Little by little, we are learning which players are slated to return to Florida for the 2026/27 season. A handful of rotational players from this past season have announced their plans to return, and as of now, the Gators have seen just one player hit the transfer portal.
As of April 1, here is who is for sure coming back, who has transferred, and who still has a choice to make.
Players are listed in alphabetical order.
Florida players with decisions to makeÂ
AJ Brown - Injuries ended his 2025/26 campaign before it even started, but the Orlando native did opt to come back for another season and could make a push to be in the rotation next season. AJ Brown was a noted three-point shooter for Ohio before transferring to Florida.
Isaiah Brown - Isaiah Brown might officially get to team up with his brother next season. Isaiah started to see increased minutes towards the end of the season and could make a push to be a starter depending upon how the transfer portal shakes out.
Rueben Chinyelu - The Defensive Player of the Year is eventually going to have a choice to make. If we had to guess and speculate, Chinyelu feels like a guy who probably comes back, even if he goes through the NBA Draft process, simply because his NIL deal would be worth more than what the NBA would pay him.
Alex Condon - The other major unknown is Condon. He didn’t get the draft boost during the season that he was probably hoping for, but he did finish out the season strong. Like Chinyelu, most mock drafts have him in that mid-second round range. Is that enough to entice him to leave?
Boogie Fland - The fact that Fland not only came back but did so as quickly as he did was a bit of a surprise, just because we had wondered aloud whether Florida would pay enough to keep him after a disappointing 2025/26 campaign. Fland returning, though, does headline the fact that Florida’s frontcourt next season is going to be filled with returning guys.
Micah Handlogten - No update yet on whether or not Handlogten is going to receive an extra year of eligibility from the NCAA. If he does not, he is out of eligibility.
Thomas Haugh - As we have stated throughout, it would be a minor miracle for Haugh to return for one more year at Florida. Mock drafts still have him as a lottery pick, and unless he goes to the NBA Combine and gets some wildly conflicting information, we are going to assume that Haugh is gone.
CJ Ingram - Ingram didn’t play much this season, especially once SEC play started, and he hasn’t announced his plans just yet. If Ingram stays, his playing time next year could depend on how the rest of Florida’s frontcourt stays or goes.
Cooper Josefsberg - The walk-on hasn’t announced his plans yet, but we would assume he comes back for one more go of it.
Urban Klavzar - Klavzar’s another player who announced right away he was coming back right away, which is good because he felt like a player who could get poached. The big thing for Florida next year is they need to find a second option who can shoot three to help space things out for Klavzar.
Alex Kovatchev - The Sacramento State transfer wasn’t seen much this season, but he did announce this week he was coming back for another go at it. It’s hard to envision much of an increased role next season.
Xaivian Lee - Lee was one of the better players for Florida down the stretch after getting off to a terrible start in the non-conference. He is out of eligibility, though.
Alex Lloyd - Florida’s other highly touted freshman also didn’t get much meaningful playing time. He just announced he is coming back and hopes to break into the rotation for next season.
Viktor Mikic - Depending upon who comes back could also dictate how much Mikic gets on the court for next season. As of now, he has not announced his plans for next season.
Olivier Rioux - It’s telling that Florida is going to have openings in the frontcourt next season, one way or another, and Rioux still opted to hit the transfer portal. The reality is that he just wasn’t an SEC-caliber center, and Florida’s up-and-down system just wasn’t a good match for him.
