Always be 'crootin'. It is the nature of the beast in the SEC. Thankfully, Jon Sumrall cut his teeth by playing and coaching in this league at Kentucky. The former Tulane and Troy head coach plans to turn the Florida Gators around in a hurry. Although he is not a patient man, he will have to be patient to end up with this recruiting prize. It is still quite early, but Anthony Jennings III seems to really like Florida...
Jennings reacted to Chad Simmons' expert prediction for Rivals with these emojis on his X account.

According to the 247Sports Composite, Jennings is the No. 25 player from Florida, the No. 30 wide receiver in the country, and the No. 228 overall recruit in the 2027 cycle. Even though he has been crystal balled to Florida in some capacity, Jennings still has 40 official offers to sort through. More importantly, he is also taking visits to Auburn, Florida State, and Georgia later on this spring as well.
Jennings will be at Georgia first on May 29, but Florida will be up the following week for him on June 4.

Look. Jennings hails from Fort Lauderdale. It should make all the sense in the world that he would want to play in-state, all things equal. What is interesting is he does not appear to be taking a visit to the closest power player in-state in Miami. Maybe the Hurricanes could make a push for him as the spring becomes summer, and so on? Regardless, Florida does appear to be in the driver's seat here.
Follow along with this... Florida should be viewed as Jennings' leader for a few reasons. When it comes to Auburn, Alex Golesh had great success in-state at South Florida. But that was at the Group of Five level, and Auburn is in the midst of its worst decade in ages. Florida State is one more bad year away from Mike Norvell getting fired. Georgia does not recruit receivers very well out of high school.
So unless Miami inserts itself into the conversation here quickly, Florida should be the favorite. Truth be told, there is a chance Jennings might like what Golesh is selling at Auburn. With Georgia, we are still talking about a perennial national title contender. As far as Florida State is concerned, maybe Jennings thinks he could be the missing piece to get the Seminoles over the top? It may just be UF...
Once Jennings makes his four visits this summer, we should all expect for him to commit to Florida.
