4-star UF commit shutting down recruitment is 1 more off-field win for Billy Napier

With the season just around the corner, Billy Napier has one less recruit to worry about flipping his commitment to another school now. Four-star cornerback CJ Bronaugh has officially closed his recruitment, basically telling other teams he simply isn't interested and plans on officially signing with Florida when the time comes.

Bronaugh made the reason for closing his commitment pretty straightforward with a seven-word response.

"I know this is where I belong," Bronaugh said.

The Winter Garden, Florida native did flipped his commitment from Nebraska to Florida back on June 18 after being committed to the Cornhuskers since 2024. Bronaugh is Florida's highest-ranked commitment in the Class of 2026, and now that him being locked into the Gators, Napier doesn't have to worry about trying to keep him around.

Of course, with Bronaugh closing his commitment, Florida can't just forget about the kid, but Napier now doesn't have to worry about him flipping, and the young cornerback can now work to help bring in more top recruits for the future.

Bronaugh comes to Florida as the No. 107 player in the Class of 2026, the No. 14 cornerback in the class, and the No. 13 player in the state of Florida. For the Gators Class of 2026, Bronaugh is one of 18 players planning to play for Napier next season.

Even though Napier doesn't have any five-star recruits, he has multiple four-star recruits and isn't quite done with the Class of 2026 either. It looks like five-star EDGE Jake Kreul is still considering the Gators with his latest social media post of his offer from Florida.

Napier can now turn his attention to getting wins on the field as the 2025 season is simply just weeks away. Napier will always have to keep an eye on recruiting, but fans are ready for a successful season, and Napier is ready to give just that to them.
