College fantasy football is back!

Yahoo! is bringing back college fantasy football for a second run after trying it in 2018 and stopping it during the pandemic. With individual players from the P4 + Notre Dame available, college football fantasy leagues should be a fun part of the game week.

The rules and rosters are similar to the NFL fantasy game, and it is customizable. There also are a few wrinkles, like a "Team Offense" that rewards efficient offenses that continue to perform with backups during blowouts. And there are also plenty of Florida Gators to choose from.

Jadan Baugh will likely be the first RB taken in most college football fantasy leagues

Well, this goes without saying. Baugh will be one of the top running backs in the country and the engine that will make Buster Faulkner's offense work. The junior will likely see an uptick in usage from the 220 carries that he got as a sophomore. There's also the added element of Baugh's ability to catch the ball. He had 33 receptions last year in a very basic offense and could have more in Faulkner's creative offense and more opportunities to do things in space.

Baugh should also score more than eight touchdowns this season unless the quarterback, whether that's Aaron Philo or Tramell Jones, calls their own number more around the goal line. There are just too many reasons for Baugh to be the RB1 in any college fantasy football league.

Other Gators that you might want on your fantasy squad.

I think most Gator fans are optimistic about the offense because Buster Faulkner is the real deal as an offensive coordinator. There are questions on the offensive line, especially at tackle, and with the lack of experience at quarterback, but there are also a lot of players that could produce on a fantasy level.

Dallas Wilson, WR

Wilson's got to get healthy and prove that he can be healthy for a full season. The few times he was healthy last year, he was a difference maker and if he's healthy this year, the potential to be WR1 for the Gators is high. Everyone should point to last year's Texas game (six catches, 111 yards and two touchdowns) as an example of what Wilson can do if he's healthy and ready to roll. Florida is going to make Baugh the focal point of the offense, but they will need to occasionally go over the top and that's where Wilson will shine.

* Eric Singleton, WR

If you're looking for the guy that can produce in a PPR league and provide some more consistency with the numbers, Singleton is likely to be him. He won't have the gaudy numbers that Wilson will have a few times this season, but Singleton is good for 4+ catches and 55-60+ yards most weeks.

* Defense/Special Teams

Jon Sumrall's defense makes plays. His teams have accumulated over 150 sacks and over 90 turnovers  during his four seasons as a head coach. Yes, the offensive lines and quarterbacks are much better in the SEC than they are in the Sun Belt or the American, but so are the players he has on this Gators defense. Jayden Woods is going to take the next step as a dynamic edge rusher and cornerback Ben Hanks III is being pegged as a breakout star. Sumrall and defensive coordinator Brad White are going to let these dogs hunt.
