Florida Football Recruiting: Teddy Foster wins state title, solid with Gators
There has been a lot of chaos surrounding Florida football. Between players leaving and the perceived lack of assistant coaches, the narrative for Billy Napier could be better.
One of the under-the-radar prospects for Napier helped his squad win the state title yesterday and says he is locked in with the Gators.
Florida Football: Teddy Bear
Teddy Foster has been a Gator commit since July. He is a lower-rated three-star prospect out of Cardinal Mooney High in Sarasota.
Foster was in the 1S state title game yesterday with Cardinal Mooney and Foster played a big role in helping his squad win the state title over Trinity Catholic 31-27.
While he will be a defensive back with Florida football, Foster also plays wide receiver and had three catches for 103 yards, including an 82-yard touchdown.
After the game, Foster was asked about his status with Florida by the Sarasota Hearld-Tribune and said he is still all in with the Gators.
"“I talked to coach Napier and the coaching staff and it was mutual. It was just little disagreements in the room. We got a new guy in. I trust coach Napier. I still love coach Raymond. But I’m a Gator.”"
The “new guy” Foster appears to be referencing is LA Chargers defensive backs coach Will Harris, whom many believe will be the defensive backs coach for Florida in 2024.
Foster had interest from North Carolina, Miami, Michigan State, Pitt, Tennessee, and USC.
