Florida football recruiting: Teddy Foster commits to the Gators
By Will Thomas
Florida football recruiting has already assembled an army of talent on the defensive side of the ball in the 2024 class.
With even more high-level targets left on the board, the Gators added another commitment this evening, who was also their first CB commitment of the class.
Teddy Foster, a three-star out of Sarasota, Florida, announced his intentions to play for the Gators in his college career tonight.
The Gators beat out Miami and North Carolina for Foster’s services.
Florida football recruiting: Getting the ball rolling
As I said, Foster is the first corner commit for the Gators in the 2024 cycle, which almost sounds made up given how much success UF has had on the trail.
And while he may not have all of the stars or the ratings of some of the other corners in his cycle, we’ve talked plenty on this site about how underrated he appears to be.
He’s ranked as the 672nd-best player in the country, the 67th-best corner in the 2024 class, and the 90th-best player coming out of Florida per On3’s RPM.
But for reasons that we’ve reiterated time and time again, Foster deserves a bump up and is a better player than the guys around him in the rankings.
As I said earlier the Gators beat out Miami and North Carolina for Foster, but it would be hard to call this one a tight battle down the stretch.
The Gators were the heavy leader for Teddy for most of his recruitment, so Billy Napier and Corey Raymond had a relatively stress-free Friday afternoon.
Foster is hopefully the first domino to fall as the Gators continue to add to their CB recruiting. They have a few more high-level prospects at that position they’re going after, and with all the momentum they have, I like UF’s chances.
