The odds were low entering the day, but there was faint hope that Florida football would gain the commitment of five-star offensive tackle Jordan Seaton.

And Seaton did wind up at a school that had low odds coming into the day; it just wasn’t the hat of the Florida Gators that was donned.

Florida Football: Prime Time does it again

If you are not familiar with Seaton, he is 6’5″ and 287 pounds out of IMG Academy and is considered the top offensive tackle in the country.

We highlighted Seaton a couple of weeks ago when he went viral for his downfield blocking on a Jerrae Hawkins catch and run.

When we reviewed his film back in March, we said:

"“His biggest asset is that he keeps his hands inside and once he engages with an opposing lineman or linebacker he very easily can have the upper hand. If he can get to your side or get you slightly off balance, odds are you are going to fall to the ground.”"

While Seaton did make an official visit with the Gators on October 6, most insider reports seem to indicate that Florida was not in the running to gain his commitment when he made his announcement today.

Most believed that Ohio State and Tennessee were the two front-runners.

But Seaton surprised the college football world when he announced that he would attend the University of Colorado with head coach Deion Sanders.

As it stands right now, Florida football has offensive linemen Fletcher Westphal, Mike Williams, Marcus Mascoll, and Noel Portnjagin committed for the class of 2024.

Westphal is the most notable of the bunch. The four-star prospect out of Virginia has been linked to the Gators since July. Williams, Mascoll, and Pornjagin are all three-star prospects who will more than likely redshirt during the 2024 season.
