Whether you are a Florida football fan, an Atlanta Falcons fan, or just a jilted fantasy football player, it’s no secret that Kyle Pitts has been the source of much frustration since being drafted to the NFL. Despite seemingly being open game after game, the Falcons seem determined to win without utilizing their former fourth-overall draft pick.

For at least one game, Pitts had to remind everyone he still has the potential to be an elite tight end in the NFL.

Florida Football: Make em count

The final stat line for Pitts against the Tampa Bay Buccanneers was three catches for 47 yards. By itself, it doesn’t seem impressive and continues the trend Pitts has had since topping 1,000 yards his rookie season.

But two of his three catches were massive for the Falcons and their efforts to beat Tampa Bay on Sunday.

His first catch came in the first quarter, and is a contender for catch of the year. Desmond Ridder threw the ball behind Pitts, shocking we know, and forcing Pitts to reach behind him to try and make the grab.

But because it turns out Pitts is still talented at football, he still managed to bring the ball in and maintain his stride.

His third catch of the day essentially won the game for Atlanta. After the Falcons did everything in their power to give the game away and Tampa Bay had just tied the game with 45 seconds left, Pitts found himself open, and Ridder trusted the big frame of Pitts to throw the ball above the secondary where only Pitts could grab it.

A catch and run after, and Atlanta was set up for a game-winning field goal.

Hopefully, when Atlanta goes back and watches their film, they will be reminded why they drafted the former Florida football star in the first place.
