Florida Football: Dez Bryant wants to get Kyle Pitts out of Atlanta
When Kyle Pitts was playing for Florida football, he was an unstoppable force of nature that nobody in the college game could defend. Pitts’ Kyle-to-Kyle connection with Kyle Trask almost led the Gators to the 2020 national title.
Something about a thrown shoe ruined that dream.
But now that he is in the NFL, his stint with the Atlanta Falcons has been nothing short of a nightmare, and the chorus of people trying to get him out of Atlanta is starting to grow.
Florida Football: HELP!
That effort landed him on the NFL Top 100 players entering into the 2022 season.
But between injuries and having to play with Marcus Mariota and Desmond Ridder last season, Pitts sank to just 28 catches for 356 yards during the 2022 season.
With Ridder now leading the way in Atlanta, the opening day in the NFL did not go much better for Pitts.
Two catches for 44 yards. At least Atlanta won 24-10.
It wasn’t a case of Pitts not being open. Multiple clips circulating X/Twitter show the All-22 film from the game and showcase multiple times where Pitts was wide open and never had the ball thrown his way.
Enter Dez Bryant, of all people, to chime in.
Bryant last played in the NFL during the 2020 season when he appeared in six games with Baltimore. He has stayed active on social media post-football with his commentary on the Cowboys.
With Jake Ferguson and Peyton Hendershot at tight end, Dallas doesn’t have an elite player at the position. Even in their blowout win over the Giants, Ferguson only had two catches for 11 yards.
Depending on Atlanta’s mindset moving forward, they might be able to get a decent return on Pitts if Jerry Jones feels he is the missing piece.
