With the 2024 recruiting class all but locked up for Florida football, save a couple of high-profile prospects left to get, the Gators have been hard at work starting to send offers out to 2025 prospects.

The latest player from Georgia to get an offer from the Gators is an unranked player, but we don’t think will stay unranked for long.

Florida Football: Position of need

Hollis Davidson is a tight end out of Peachtree City, GA. Listed at 6’6″ and 215 pounds, Davidson is a bit of a matchup nightmare for opposing high school defenses.

His willingness to block immediately jumps out on film, even when lined up in a receiver slot. He doesn’t shy away from opposing corners and safeties, and once engaged, he will hold his block even after the play has surpassed him.

His sheer size makes him a menace to try and guard. Even when he gets a bit twisted around or when the ball isn’t thrown with the greatest accuracy, Davidson does well locating the ball and securing catches that others probably wouldn’t have made.

He is quickly bursting onto the scene as a coveted prospect. When he posted his midseason film two weeks ago, he had three Power Five offers on the table.

That number has now shot up to eight, including one from Florida football this week.

Davidson is unranked within the class of 2025, but we suspect that will change. He doesn’t have the run-after-catch ability of someone like Arlis Boaringham just yet, but 6’6″ tight ends who are willing blockers don’t just grow on trees.

And given the lack of depth that Florida has at tight end, it is a position of need. The Gators have Amir Jackson out of Georgia committed in 2024, and if Russ Callaway gets his way, Davidson will join him in 2025.

The schedule is brutal to close out 2023. dark. Next
