Florida football recruiting is aiming high in the 2025 class, going after the best players at multiple positions in pursuit of the top class in the country.

The Gators just made the first cut for an elite defender in the ’25 cycle and a top-ten EDGE in the country.

Bryce Davis, out of Greensboro, North Carolina, named his top-12 schools last night, and the Gators made the cut.

Other schools in his top-12 include Clemson, Georgia, Alabama, Notre Dame, USC, and others.

Florida football recruiting: Into the heart of ACC country

We wrote about Davis a few weeks ago after he made a visit to The Swamp and had nothing but good things to say about the Gators.

And as was the case then, the ACC schools in his area sit on top of his recruitment. Duke leads with a 35.6% chance to land him per On3’s RPM, followed by North Carolina and Clemson.

But Billy Napier has shown that he doesn’t care where you are and which schools lead for you. If he wants you, he’s coming.

And that’s what we’re seeing in Davis’ recruitment.

Bryce has made one trip to Gainesville so far and it was back in June of this year when he said that Florida met his high expectations.

Davis will take a couple more trips to The Swamp before all is set and done, hopefully for an official visit.

Looking at the Gators’ 2024 class, it feels like they’ve landed just about every defender they’ve pressed for so far. The same could be true in 2025 with the plethora of in-state guys, as well as out-of-state talent like Davis.

It’s hard not to like what you see in Bryce, as he’s rated as a top 70 player in the country and the 9th-best EDGE in his class.

If the Gators can gain some traction in his recruitment in the coming months, he’ll skyrocket up their recruiting board.
