Florida football recruiting has done an outstanding job recruiting wide receivers in the 2024 class, assembling a trio of speedsters.

But DJ Lagway has said that he isn’t done recruiting wideouts to come play with him, and has said that he wants to add one more pass catcher to the mix before the class is all set and done.

There are a couple of candidates for that spot, one of which is Mario Craver out of Pinson, Alabama.

Craver is another flash on the football field and would be an elite addition to the Gators’ wide receiver haul.

Florida football recruiting: Zipping around the field

As we mentioned earlier, the Gators have already assembled a very fast group of wide receivers in Tawaski Abrams, Jerrae Hawkins, and Izaiah Williams.

Well, Mario is pretty quick too.

He has a 10.74 second 100m and a 22.59 200m. He’s also logged a 21-8.75 long jump, showcasing his athleticism and explosiveness even more.

With all that speed for Craver does come one drawback, which is his size. He stands at 5’9”-150 as of now. His weight will have to go up 15-20 pounds before he gets to a college campus, which hopefully won’t hurt his speed.

In any case, Craver is a great wideout and the type of guy that Florida has been recruiting all cycle. On3’s Industry Ranking has him ranked as the 318th-best player in the country, the 54th-best wideout in the class, and the 16th-best player coming out of Alabama.

In-state Auburn currently leads for Craver on On3’s RPM with a 38.8% chance, with Alabama in second at 17.4%, and the Gators in first at 14.9%. The lone crystal ball on 247 is in favor of the Gators.

Florida has already hosted Mario for two visits, but they’ll need to get him on campus again if they want to really be in the race for his signature.

So that’s how we’ll know how serious Billy Napier is about Mario. And if they do decide to go after them, there isn’t a whole lot that can stop Lagway and Napier from landing who they want.
