Florida football recruiting is on the hunt for its next addition to its already impressive 2024 class and may be closing in on one of its secondary targets.

The Gators are in the final three for Teddy Foster, a 3-star CB out of Sarasota, Florida.

The Gators have been trending for Foster for most of his recruitment, and are now in the final stretches of landing his commitment.

The other two schools that made the cut are Miami and North Carolina.

Florida football recruiting: Sleeper in-state prospect

We’ve already written a piece about Foster and the type of prospect that he is.

He’s a three-star across all recruiting services and is ranked as high as the 58th-best corner in the 2024 class, which is on ESPN.

But there’s really no reason that the rankings should be this harsh on him. He’s a great two-way player for Cardinal Mooney and has sky-high potential for his college career.

In his junior season as a corner, he totaled 38 tackles, nine pass breakups, and two interceptions. As a wide receiver, he caught 17 passes for 242 yards and three touchdowns.

Foster’s best attribute is his ability to find the football wherever he is on the field. Does he have the speed and flash that some of the higher-rated corners have? Maybe not.

But he puts himself in position to make a play on the ball every snap and is very good at getting up to the point of the catch and snatching it out of the air.

Florida is the heavy leader currently for Foster on both On3 and 247. On3’s RPM says that the Gators have a 97.7% chance to land Teddy, and both crystal balls on 247 are in favor of Florida.

So is Foster a jump-off-the-page guy who will make headlines when he commits? No.

But his raw talent and potential are something that could pair very well with Corey Raymond.

Hopefully, the Gators are able to close this one down.
