Friday night was an epic night for Florida baseball as the Gators rallied to score three runs in the ninth inning to defeat Virginia 6-5. The Gators now gear up today to face Oral Roberts at 7 PM, and the winner will be just one win away from the championship series.

But while Gator fans can’t be on the field to hit a 450-foot homerun, there is a competition in Omaha that Gator fans are trying their best to compete in.

Florida Baseball: Shots, shots, shots, everybody

One of the fun, new traditions that have started up at the Men’s College World Series is the Jello Shot Challenge at Rocco’s, a local bar in Omaha.

The premise is simple, throughout the CWS fans can purchase a Jello Shot, and a portion of the sale will go to various food banks.

The fan base that purchases the most Jello Shots is the winner (or the loser depending on your perspective).

It does not appear that Florida is going to come on top in this challenge, but they for sure will not be the worst.

LSU fans are currently crushing the competition, while Virginia fans are bringing up the rear.

Now there are obviously other factors that go into this, such as how many total fans a team has at the World Series.

Wake Forest is in their first World Series in decades, and while Oral Roberts and TCU may be religious-based schools, they are in close proximity to Omaha.

The real shocker on this list is Tennessee. This seems like a challenge right up their alley, and yet Vol fans are third to last in the challenge.

Florida isn’t going to catch LSU, they revel in their debauchery. But if Florida can stick around in the tournament and either TCU or Oral Roberts gets sent home early, it wouldn’t be outside the realm of possibility for Florida baseball fans to rise up into third.

We will keep you updated as the week progresses.
