Florida football recruiting has a big month ahead of them with official visits from some of the best players in the nation.

While a lot of the focus is on the next few weeks, Billy Napier and the Gators are still working on getting other top players in the country to campus as the cycle continues.

One player that the Gators have a focus on is 5-star wide receiver Cam Coleman out of Phenix City, Alabama.

We already did a scouting report on Coleman when he made his first trip to The Swamp a little over a week ago, which you can find here.

But the Gators have made significant progress since that first unofficial that Cam made to Gainesville.

Now, the Gators are “definitely getting an official visit” from Coleman, he told On3.

It’s encouraging to see Florida gaining momentum quickly on Cam’s recruitment because they have a lot of ground to make up if they want to land him.

According to On3, Auburn is currently the heavy favorite to land him with a 79.6% chance according to their RPM.

The Tigers are followed by teams like Clemson, LSU, and Texas A&M.

It’s no surprise that a whole lot of good teams are in on Cam. On3’s industry ranking has him as the 25th-best player in the country, the 6th-best wide receiver, and the 2nd-best player coming out of Alabama.

Indulge me for a second here. Imagine the Gators, behind DJ Lagway’s relentless efforts, flip Jeremiah Smith from Ohio State.

And then Cam Coleman falls in love with UF on his visit and decides to join what would then be one of the best offensive classes in the country.

That would be a pretty big statement to the rest of the country.
