Way Too Early SEC East Predictions: Is there hope for Florida football?
SEC Power Rankings: Tiger stripes
2022 Record: 6-7
2023 FPI Rating: 6.4
ESPN Win Projection: 6-6
Missouri has five-star wide receiver Luther Burden, who managed a grand total of 375 yards receiving in 2022.
Beyond that, there isn’t much to put your faith in for 2023.
Brady Cook, last season’s QB, had offseason shoulder surgery, Jake Garcia transferred in from Miami, and beyond that, its former four-star prospect Sam Horn.
Plus, outside of their 2022 recruiting class, Missouri has been hanging out of the top 25 for this four-year cycle, and they haven’t brought in much to move the needle out of the transfer portal.
Missouri has a way of being feisty in the back half of the season because Columbia, MO is a miserable place to play in November.
But their two cross-over games are Arkansas and LSU. Given their SEC schedule, it’s hard to project Missouri for more than two SEC wins.
