Malik Davis went undrafted this past offseason and was picked up by the Cowboys before his rookie season began. He was put into a very crowded running back room for a rookie, lining up behind Ezekiel Elliot and Tony Pollard.

Despite being third in line, Malik still had a pretty productive season. He got 38 carries for 161 yards, landing him at a solid 4.2 yards per carry.

He was also able to find the endzone late in a game against the Colts for his first career touchdown.

San Francisco has one of the best defensive fronts in the game. If Malik sees any action, it’ll be a baptism by fire for him as he makes his first career postseason appearance.

At Florida, we saw Davis get used a lot in the short passing game, running wheel routes and short patterns out into the flat.

If things slow down for Dallas, maybe we see him in a similar role tonight. Davis is quick in space and can make just about anybody miss in the open field.

As Malik continues to develop, he’ll turn into a scary weapon on offense.

Keep up with Florida football at Hail Florida Hail.
