Nay’Quan Wright

The first returning back we’ll cover here is Nay’Quan Wright. After suffering a broken ankle against FSU last season, Wright is looking to bounce back and have an even more impactful season this year.

Wright’s highlights last season were mainly plays where he cut, jumped, and skipped around defenders, leaving them reaching for air.

Not only does Wright have the ability to stop and go on a dime, but he can also flatten any defender who’s in front of him. At 5’9”-202, Nay’Quan is a wrecking ball of a back.

This season, I’d expect Wright to be used as a catching threat more than a runner purely out of the back field. This doesn’t mean he’ll be running post routes and gunning it downfield, rather he’ll be catching little flares out of the backfield in order to get the ball in open space.

Last season Wright had 326 rushing yards with an average of 4.3 yards a carry. In the passing game, he had 178 receiving yards with 12.7 yards a catch. Of course the passing yards are higher than the rushing yards, but this shows how effective he is catching the ball.
