Leading DBU

Florida football has always been known for their tradition of having the best defensive backs in football. Jason Marshall Jr. is looking to continue that tradition this year.

In his freshman campaign he only got to play limited snaps, but still put up solid numbers. He had 23 tackles, 15 of which were solo, and 3 PBUs as well as an interception against FSU.

At 6’1”-198, Marshall has great size outside the numbers. He’s also proven his ability to play the ball in the air and put himself in the perfect spot to make a play.

The Gators are going to be depending on JM to be THE guy in the secondary. He needs to be the one to step up and replace Kaiir Elam on the backend.

There’s no doubt the Marshall has all the physical tools to be a #1 corner not just in Gainesville, but in the SEC. Only time will tell if he’s able to step up and be in the spotlight, but something tells me he’ll be ready.
