4-Star Cornerback Sharif Denson Includes Florida Gators in Top 5

Sharif Denson, a 4-star recruit in the class of 2023 from Bartram Trail High School in Jacksonville, Florida, announced his top five and included the Florida Gators, according to Hayes Fawcett with on3.com. Denson received an offer from the Gators back in January 2020 and has been on three unofficial visits to Gainesville. The other schools included in his top five include Ohio State, Texas A&M, South Carolina, and Florida State.  Denson is the 17th ranked cornerback in the class of 2023 and 157th overall player nationally, according to 247sports.com.

Denson is listed at 5’11, 170 pounds, and plays with a mixture of speed and physicality. He has a high motor, not giving up on plays and showing his ability to chase down ball carriers. Denson does a great job tackling in the open field, allowing him to play a factor in both, the run and the passing game. He also doesn’t allow wide receivers to create space and brings the ability to return kicks if he needs to.

The cornerback position is one of the more critical positions, and you can never have too much talent at the position, especially in the SEC, where every week you will be playing elite talent at the wide receiver position.

While it will still likely be a while before we see Sharif Denson commit anywhere, we would love to see him wear the orange and blue.

Head Coach Billy Napier has already gotten two 4-star commitments for the class of 2023 in the last couple of days with wide receiver Creed Whittemore and offensive lineman Knijeah Harris. Coach Napier has done a great job of recruiting so far as well as getting assistant coaches who recruit well.
