If you follow college football recruiting and don’t know who Harold Perkins is, you’ve been living under a rock for this past month.

Perkins is a 5-star linebacker and ranked the 8th best player in the 2022 recruiting class. He was committed to Texas A&M for some time. But, Perkins dropped a bombshell on the Aggie football world earlier this week.

Perkins announcing his decommittment from Texas A&M was huge for Florida football. Why? He had just had an official visit with the Gators a week prior to making these huge waves. Harold took to Twitter several times regarding his visit to Gainesville.

This would hands down be the biggest signing for Florida in quite a few years. 247 recruiting is already projecting Perkins to be a 1st-round NFL draft pick in a few years. The Gators linebacker core would be very dangerous with both Perkins and recent signing, Shemar James.

While Florida has definitely risen fast in Perkins ranks, they still have some stiff competition to beat out. Perkins will be visiting LSU this week just before signing day. You also can’t count out Texas A&M, he loved them enough to once commit there. Don’t forget about our old pal Deion Sanders either.
