Breaking News: Florida Gators TE1 enters the transfer portal for 2022

Florida Gators starting tight end Kemore Gamble, who was in line to start in 2022 as well, has announced that he will be entering the transfer portal.  Kemore stated this on Twitter in a post, thanking the coaching staff of Florida football, as well as reinforcing his decision to forego the 2022 NFL Draft to play another year of college football.  He thanked the likes of Dan Mullen, Larry Scott, Tim Brewster, and many other people during this post, which you can see below.

This decision came quickly after it was announced that Kenmore would return for 2022 to college football, however until now we did not know if this would be for Florida football or otherwise.  While this does not 100% mean he will leave, odds are he will transfer as the last paragraph sounds like a formal and solidified goodbye.

Florida Football TE Kemore Gamble 2021 Season

Kemore Gamble seemingly was finally starting to get more touches for Florida football, as he would end the year with a pretty solid statline.  He would end the year with the following statistics:

  • 9 games played
  • 31 receptions for 414 yards (13.4 YPR) and 4 touchdowns
  • 0 total fumbles in his career

While he was not exceptionally productive with Florida, he was only getting better by the year, and likely would have seen an increased snap count and more red zone touches due to a potential new quarterback.  He has always been extremely productive with the touches he has received in his career, as he averaged 16 yards per reception in 2020, and had a career-long reception of 47 yards in 2021.

Florida Football TE Kemore Gamble Strengths

Kemore was a very solid and consistent feature in the Florida football offense, while he did nothing exceptionally well he was consistent all around.  He had very reliable hands and very rarely dropped anything, and when he got out into space had very good straight-line speed.  He has a natural ability to get behind defenders and find the gaps in zone defense, which is something many NFL teams look for.  The wheel route he runs in the video below is a good example, as he sees the defender turn towards the inside and runs right along the sideline.

Two more videos to show his quickness and reliability can be seen here:

He was also solid as a blocker, as he was able to latch onto defenders and did well to hold them back with his frame at 6’4″ 243 pounds.  Overall, his production at Florida did not resemble his impact, as while his statistics are somewhat lackluster, he was very good when he was given a chance to shine.  While him leaving certainly feels bad for Florida fans if this is how he can truly shine in a new offense then so be it, as he deserves his shot at the NFL level by improving his stock at a new team.
